| BJP activists’ stage protest demonstration at Bhaderwah | | | DODA, MAY15 Hundreds of BJP workers today staged a protest demonstration and Dharna in Seri Bazaar Bhaderwah and shouted anti-Azad, anti-Government and anti-Police slogans. The protestors led by the District-President BJP Chander Shekher, criticized the Congress government for its failure on all fronts and also asked the Chief Minister to step down alleging that Hindu community was not safe in the whole district and even the Police was targeting them. He said various developmental agencies are harassing the common man on the name of development in the whole District and particularly at Bhaderwah .He said that two weeks back, one Police sub-inspector in charge Police Post Karara at Thatri raped a Hindu girl at least for seven days and claimed that entire administration remained as mute spectators. He criticized the district administration for not taking any strict action against the accused adding that corruption is on rampant in the Bhaderwah. Shekher also accused the government of its failure in providing compensation to the poor farmers who land was acquired for University Campus and criticized the Bhaderwah Development Authority for misguiding the local people on the name of Tourism Development and demanded that a monitoring committee should be constituted to keep vigil on the ongoing works and previously executed works by developmental agencies. He also demanded that sophisticated weapons should be provided to VDC members besides enhancing their salaries and regularization of RETs and contractual lecturers. Dharenter Singh, Koshal Dogra and Prithivi Raj Kotwal also addressed the protestors and demanded stern action against the police official involved in rape case.
