Excellence program for police officers concludes

The two day Management Development Program (MDP) on Attitude of Excellence organized jointly by the Business school, University of Jammu and the Jammu and Kashmir Police concluded here today.
The MDP was attended by 30 police officers of the rank of DIGs, SSPs, ASPs, SPs, and DySPs along with the Faculty Members and the Research Scholars of the Business School and the centre for Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Jammu.
Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof. Amitabh Mattoo was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
During the two day program, the participants were exposed to the contemporary thoughts for building positive attitude to achieve excellence in personal and professional lives.
S Bhattacharya, who was the resource person for the program introduced innovative pedagogy to bring in the concept of systems thinking, positive attitude and importance of building personal and professional goals.
Prof. Neelu Rohmetra in her welcome address, spoke about the contours of the programme. She said positive attitude, hardwork, commitment and vision lead one towards excellence. Dr. S.P. Vaid, IGP, Jammu in his address said that this program shall surely help the officers to develop positive attitude in their professional lives. He further added that Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel needs such programmes in near future as well.
Prof. Mattoo said that such training programmes benefit all the stakeholders. He said that extension to the society is a critical aspect of learning for the University faculty. He appreciated the initiative taken by the business school in organizing the MDP programme. Later, Prof. Mattoo distributed certificates and mementos to the participants.
Prof. Keshav Sharma, Director, The Business School presented the vote of thanks, and said that such programmes were a step towards taking our Business school among the top B-Schools of the country. Dr Alka Sharma conducted the proceedings. Anil Gupta and Komal Nagar, Faculty members of the business school presented the valedictory report.
Prof. Ashok Alma, Prof. M.R. Rana from the business School, Prof. J.R. Dhotra, Dean. The Business School, Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Director CHTM, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director Colleges Development and Sanjeev Mahajan, Registrar University of Jammu also attended the valedictory session.
