| Cabinet meeting today | | Major reshuffle in civil, police departments likely | | Srinagar, May 16 The delimitation of existing Assembly segments and constitution of a committee to report on the matter is likely to dominate State cabinet meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad . The setting up of a committee that would suggest measures about rationalization of boundaries of the existing assembly constituencies and measures for improving the life of West Pakistan and POK refugees living in various areas of Jammu was announced by CM at the end of All party meeting held on Monday last. It is pertinent to mention here that CM had called the meeting to discuss the enhancement of Assembly seats by twenty five percent, rationalization of the existing constituencies and granting state subject rights to the Pak refugees displaced during 1947, 1965 and 1971. Sources said that the meeting besides nominating the members of the committee would also affect some major transfers in civil and police departments. "More than one hundred transfers in police and civil administration were expected to be ordered in the meeting", one of the cabinet meeting said, on the condition of anonymity. However, there is every likely hood of difference on the nomination of the members of the committee between the alliance partners particularly from PDP. PDP which has shown little interest in giving state subject status to Pak Refugees by linking the issue to resolution of Kashmir is likely to object to the constitution of the committee, sources added.
