Congratulating Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA for having received letter of appreciation from the Award Committee of Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly for his excellent performance on the floor of the House during 2006-07 session, Prof Bhim Singh Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party hoped that other MLAs of the party would fight for the noble cause of the poor and depressed people.
In the meantime, Prof Bhim Singh has made a strong appeal to Chief Minister to accept the demands of striking engineers who have been sitting on dharna for the past 42 days in support of their demands.
‘We have a commitment to the trained educated youth to provide them work and hoped that Chief Minister shall do justice by accepting their genuine demands with any delay’, Prof Singh added.
It may be recalled that the Award Committee of the State Legislative Assembly in its appreciation letter to Balwant Singh Mankotia has described him ‘as a man of courage and conviction’, who has forcefully expressed his feelings while giving due regard to the rules and procedure of the House. As a member of the House, Mankotia has been serving the people to the entire satisfaction of his capacity and always endeavored ceaselessly to take up the issues and availed opportunities to articulate the genuine hopes and aspirations of the people, especially those of the poor and the needy. ‘His knowledge, experience contributions have strengthened Legislative working in the House’, the letter said. In recognition of meaningful and exemplary contribution, the Award Committee presents letter of appreciation to Mankotia for the year 2006-07, the letter said.
