| Businessman lands in judicial lock up for criminal contempt | | | JAMMU, MAY 17 A local businessman, Surat Singh, who committed criminal contempt by leveling serious allegations against a senior lawyer, was produced in the Court by the police, as the Court had issued non-bailable warrants of said businessman. Justice Nirmal Singh of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Jammu wing, today after hearing Advocates BS Salathia, VR Wazir, Sunil Sethi and Navneet Dubey appearing for the BAR Association, observed that it is matter pertaining to criminal contempt, therefore, Registrar Judicial is directed to take appropriate orders from the Chief Justice for placing the same before the Division Bench. Court further directed that contemnor Surat Singh be kept in judicial lock-up till then. Sr. Adv DC Raina has been requested to assist the Court in the matter. It is worthwhile to mention here that on May 15 last the businessman leveled serious allegation in the open Court against Sr. Lawyer SS Nanda, standing counsel for Jammu Municipal Corporation. During the course of proceedings, the BAJ appeared in the Court and Court after hearing the battery of lawyers issued non-bailable warrants executed through SSP Jammu. In compliance of the Court direction, the police today produced the said businessman in custody
