| Members unhappy over CM, Minister’s hoarding on Amar Singh Club wall | | | Jammu, May 17 The Amar Singh Club it seems has been taken over by the Congress party as a hoarding displaying an image of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Cabinet minister Gulchain Singh Charak proudly stands on one of the walls of the club. The hoarding wishes Baisakhi greetings to the citizens of Jammu, a festival which was celebrated in the month of April. Less than the political influence of the Congress party, this act speaks of the lethargy of the club management, which has failed to remove this board which has been standing tall since last few months. Despite complaints made by some members in this regard, the club management has failed to remove the board which depicts the all powerful chief minister in the state. Club members on the condition of anonymity said that it is evident that the clout of the ruling party has intimidated and as such no action is being taken in this regard.
The Congress High Command it seems has virtually taken over the club management as no one from the club is ready to remove this board from the club. Sources further have revealed that a number of decisions have been taken under the influence of the high ranking politicians which has not down well among the club members. Here, it must be mentioned that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is the president of the club and senior bureaucrat Anil Goswami is the vice president. This club is one of the oldest and most prestigious club in North India. Named after Raja Amar Singh of the erstwhile ruling family of Jammu and Kashmir.
