| PDP minister’s kin allowed scot-free in fake certificate submission case | | Enjoyed non-stop promotions in short span of time | |
Jammu | May 17 “Everything is possible in corruption ridden state of J&K”, this notion was proved precise when an official of the rank of Private Secretary was let off merely with a warning for submitting fake matriculation certificate at the time of his appointment. Surprisingly, the accused has close relations with a Minister of State (MoS) of the ruling state dispensation and also shared relation with one of the office bearers of PDP, as per sources. According to highly placed sources, Chairman, State Legislative Council Secretariat Jammu has taken a lenient view of a case of fake document submission in which Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, Private Secretary to him had submitted fake matriculation certificate at the time of his appointment. In an order passed through his office, Chairman categorically stated in it to take the lenient view of his act. Earlier, an inquiry was conducted in the said case by the Legislative Council Secretariat which established that Wani had submitted a fake matriculation certificate at the time of his appointment. Wani had manipulated his date of birth in the said fake document. Thereafter, Chairman considered the explanation personally tendered by Ishfaq Ahmad Wani to him and decided to take a lenient view as submission of fake certificate by him has not in any way given any benefit to him for remaining in service for a more longer period being still in mid thirties and he was let off with a mere warning. But an order was passed to correct the entries with regard to his date of birth after proper verification. Therefore, Wani was merely warned to be careful in future and advised to produce correct date of birth certificate for recorded in the office records. It is to mention that Ishfaq Ahmad Wani is son-in-law of Peerzada Mohammed Hussain, Minister of State for Health and senior PDP leader. His brother-in-law is also one of the office bearers of PDP. The case file in this regard was sent to Chief Minister’s Office also but nothing emerged out of that. Now, it’s a mystery as to which trick played for him, whether it was his father in law’s power or his brother in law’s pressure which saved his skin. Meanwhile, sources divulged that few years ago, Wani was appointed as Junior Reporter in legislative council. Since then, he has been granted non stop promotions over a period of just six years. At present, Wani is Private Secretary to Chairman Legislative Council. Now, it’s a mystery whether he was capable enough of that or the power flux around him pushed him so high in such a short span of time.
