| Make better use of available land, Qazi asks JDA | | |
JAMMU, May 17
Minister for Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammad Afzal had asked the authorities of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for adopting comprehensive policy for better utilization of the available land keeping in view the growing housing demands and commercial activities.
He was addressing 67th Meeting of Board of Directors of JDA held here today.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Planning and Development Mr. S. S. Kapoor, Commissioner Secretary Finance Mr. B. B. Vyas, Secretary Housing and Urban Development Mrs. Naseema Lanker, Vice Chairman JDA Mr. Ashok Parmar, Commissioner JMC Mr. Vinod Sharma, Chief Town Planner Mr. Vinod Malhotra, Chief Auditor Architect Organization Jammu Mr. V. R. Gupta and other senior functionaries.
The Minister said that the JDA should venture into construction of commercial and office complexes besides creating housing facilities for houseless urban poor families. He said for the purpose proper categorization of the land resources is imperative.
