| BDP leaders demand CBI enquiry into assault | | | Jammu May 18 Relating to the incident of assault on the members of the Backward Democratic Party, its leaders today demanded that a CBI enquiry into the matter. Addressing media persons today, the leader of the party said that the Kathua police attacked the Gujjar’s community members on the order of the member parliament Lal Singh, which is a clearl attack on the democracy. They also alleged that if the government can arrange land for the Kashmiri migrants than what is the reason behind not to provide the land for the totally landless peoples of the Gujjjar community, which belongs to the backwards classes. He also added that it is an act of human rights violations, to arrest the innocent peoples and to register FIRs against such persons, who are at no fault. They also alleged that the government is also involved in this human rights violations. Party president, Shiraz Azari said, “ the peoples of the Gujjar community and the Backward Classes are not safe in the hands of the police and the local administration . So we demand security from the Home Department, so that the members of the backward class can breathe in open air safely. Those, who were present included Daya Ritu, secretary general, Mohd Sadiq, Shera Teli vice-president, Nisar Chowdhary, Aman Din Chowdhary and others participate in the conference.
