| No need to table sef-rule document in state assembly: PDP | | |

The PDP has no plan of tabling
the self-rule document in the form of a resolution in
the state legislature.
"What has the Assembly to do with it ?" This
Counter question was posed by Mr Ghulam Hassan Mir, a former
Minister and a member of the committee which was
assigned with the task of drafting the self-rule
document in reply to a question.
Mr Mir said the self-rule document was a
peoples'agenda and the copies of the draft would
be
circulated among senior political leaders,public
men,intellectuals,MPs,senior leaders of national and
regional parties in the country.In reply to another
question he said that copies would be circulated among
the members of union cabinet,including the Prime
Minister.Ms Sonia Gandhi UPA chairperson would also
be
given a copy of the self-rule document.
He said that this was being done to explain the
contours of the idea and the agenda so that there were
no misgivings from any quarter.
when reminded that Dr Farooq Abdullah had dared the
PDP to bring the self-rule concept in the
form of a
resolution in the Assembly Mr Mir said "we need not do
it."He added the National Conference had got autonomy
resolution adopted in the state legislature but the
fate it met was known to everybody.
The PDP leader said "yes we have not set any date
for the release of the document."He said
"we are not in a
hurry.we will do it at an appropriate time."
