| Rafting boat capsize, all rescued | | |
Srinagar, May 18
A water rafting boat with nine men on board today capsized in mighty Lidher stream at world famous tourist spot Pahalgam. However, all rafters, mostly from Mumbai, were rescued.
Sources revealed that a team of rafters from Mumbai landed up here today to enjoy rafting on White waters of Mighty Lidher stream flowing from snow caped peaks of Western Himalayan Range which is also known for famous pilgrimage place Holy Amarnath Cave.
As the rafters took their journey this morning, one of the boat failed to fight the mighty water current and capsized near famous tourist destination Pahalgam, sources informed.
However, a quick action by a police team saved the lives of rafters. "Police personnel swung into action and rescued the rafters who were taken to nearby hospital for first aid", a senior police officer said.
