| Bajigar girl aspiring for KAS | | | Jammu | May 19, 2007 Ritu, in her early teens belonging to a Bajigar family living near Bag-e-Bahu locality passed 10+2 examination, result of which were declared a few days back, with good marks. She is the first girl from the community to achieve her goal. Belonging to a poor family, Ritu, since childhood had inclination towards studies. Her parents living hand to mouth are giving her moral support. Her final goal is to clear KAS examination. The members of the Bajigar community congratulated her on this achievement and hoped she in near future will be in a position to help the community which is still backward and live below poverty line. President of Bajigar Kalyan Sangathan, Mukhtiyar Kallia while congratulating Ritu, said that no serious attempts have been made by successive governments to help the community. He said world has changed a lot but the ‘Bajigar community’ is same as it was 60 years earlier. He urged upon the government for some special package to be announced for the upliftment of the community.
