| IMPASSE NOT OVER YET: CHIEF JUCTICE, JBA TALKS FAIELD TO BROKER A DEAL | | | Jammu,August 08 : The much awaited meeting between the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice BA Khan and members of the Jammu Bar Association remained inconclusive as both the sides failed to broker a deal to put an end to crisis situation emerging out of 42 day long lawyers strike in Jammu.
After the one hour long meeting the members of the Jammu bar association insisted that they will not go back on their demand seeking transfer of sex scam trial from Srinagar to Jammu in the interest of fair justice.
Sources in the JBA said that the chief Justice during his discussion with the agitating lawyers made it clear that unless strike was called off nothing would come out of the present impasse.Meanwhile, the JBA authorities maintained that unless peace deal floated by Chief Justice was discussed in the executive committee meeting of the JBA no decision could be made and decided to continue with their strike without committing any thing to the Chief Justice.
It may be mentioned that Chief Justice on Monday had also appealed to the striking lawyers to call off their strike and resume work. The lawyers were looking forward to further intensify their agitation and had already gave a call for Jammu bandh on August 11 and were busy garnering support of various unions and organsiations. |
