| SPO held for blackmailing people with militant links | | |

A Special Police Officer (SPO) was arrested today by Army and later handed over to Police on the charges of black mailing people having links with militants. Accused was himself attached with operation party of Army for anti-insurgency operations in Dungiwali gali area in Poonch.
According to reports, this morning when a SPO Sher Mohd accompanying Army patrol party passed through a village in Poonch, a woman along with the family members came forward and alleged that the said SPO had blackmailed her for militant links and also took away Rs 13500 from her some days back. On this, Sher Mohd was arrested by Army party and subjected to interrogation. It was established during his interrogation that he used to black mail the people having militant links. Later he was handed over to Police.
According to sources, the said lady had relations with an active militant namely Abdullah Inqalabi of Shopian and reported to be pregnant from him.
