DGPC to take out protest rally, demands arrest of DSS mahant

District Gurdawara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu today demanded immediate arrest of Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh head Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) of Sirsa, Haryana for his reported sacrilege act. The committee members in a press conference convened here today condemned the blasphemy and sacrilege act.
Speaking on this occasion, Tarlochan Singh Wazir president DGPC said that it is pity that the Akali Dal-BJP government in Punjab and Central Government that allowed the matter to take ugly turn. He said, “Sikhs in Jammu are in opinion that the edict passed by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib was not only soft but unmatching to the grievous injury inflicted by the so called Saba of Dera Sacha Sauda to the Sikh Community across the world.
‘We also demand the sealing of all his Dera branches so that the country does not fall 'prey to such ugly incidents, the Wazir underlined. He also informed that DGPC has organized a protest at Main Gurudwara Guru Nanak Nagar. Other members present in this pres conference urged the masses and political parties that it high time that all political parties and leaders of masses need to rise above from petty personal politics and think with a broader vision to maintain the peace and tranquility in nation.
Concluding the meeting, the chairperson Wazir appealed the highest religious body of the community i.e. Sri Akal Takhat to put a nail on all the so called dera culture indulged in irreligious activities and exploiting people on emotional cum religious sentiments.
Besides president DGPC, others present in this press conference were Surinder Singh (advocate), Sukhdev Singh, Bhain Gurdev Singh, H S Raina, Suchwant Singh, Moinder Singh, Surjeet Singh Jaspal Singh Mangal, Avtar Singh Khalsa and Ajeet Pal Singh.
