Kathua nomads demands action against Congress MP

Kathua episode that took ugly turn on early this month and created a gap between the nomadic community and the Congress MP Lal Singh has virtually become a snowball and is not coming to end till now. The Backward Classes Democratic Party demanded CBI in the case, the nomadic leaders threatened to stage protest at New Delhi
Addressing a press conference here today, the Bashir Ahmed Khatana president Nomadic Dodhi Gujjar All India Forest Association alleged that congress politician has fanned the issue by giving it the name of land grabbing by the nomadic community. He said, “it is a known fact that the nomadic community during its seasonal transition stays awhile at open lands but they had never grabbed/acquired the lands.’ He produced one Zulekha Begum in this press conference who also lobbed string criticism against Congress MP and accused him and his accomplices for threatening her. Both speakers further alleged for the concerned police of inaction as an FIR has also be4en lodged against Babbi Corporator at Police Station Rajhbagh Hiranagar Kathua and demanded immediate inquiry in this regard. Speakers also asked the state government to initiate an inquiry in the episode to deliver justice to the people of nomadic community. In this press conference speakers also demanded one room set to eight lakh population of nomads on the pattern of kashmiri Migrants so that they might not live on the mercy of people like MP Lal Singh. They also appealed the Sonia Gandhi chairperson AICC, Prime minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to see into this matter and redress the demands of the aggrieved people.
Others members of the Gujjars and Bakerwals community were present in this press conference.
