| PoK still to approve visitors’ list | | | Abhishek & Aijaz Qazmi Poonch | May 19 In a first of its kind, the Pakistan authorities have given no clearance to Indian citizens, who are scheduled to leave for PoK on May 21. According to highly placed sources, the Pak authorities have failed to approve the final list of Indian visitors to Pakistan. The decision of Pak authorities has flummoxed the Indian side, which though is keeping its fingers crossed. This is perhaps the first time that authorities have not received the approved list of Indian passengers, contrary to that the Indian side has 1200 PoK visitors who are scheduled to visit J&K, when their chance comes. Indian authorities, on condition of anonymity said that this delay from Pakistan side was surprising as the buses are scheduled to leave for across the border on May 21. Meanwhile, expressing hope that Pakistan authorities will do their bidding at the earliest, the locals here have criticized the delay. Indian authorities, on the other hand, said that they had extended the stay of 18 PoK visitors, who were scheduled to leave on May 18. Critical of PoK authorities, locals said that incidents like these leave a bad taste for the people of both the countries.
