BJP’s show-of-strength in Cong stronghold

Jammu, May 20,
State Unit of the Bharatiya Janta Party on Sunday organized an impressive Karyakarta sammelan in Gandhi Nagar area, considered a Congress strong hold and launched a scathing attack on the Congress lead coalition government for promoting cause of Kashmir valley at the behest of ignoring aspirations of people in the Jammu region.

The charge against the Congress and its coalition ally PDP was lead by the state BJP President Ashok Khajuria in the presence of several other state BJP leaders.
In his crisp speech Khajuria urged BJP workers to prepare themselves for the bigger role ahead and reminded them to work hard unitedly for achieving success in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state.
He said in the 2002 Assembly polls voter in the Jammu region voted congress to power with hopes hopes but the party has failed miserably on many counts.With out sparing PDP for parroting slogan of demilitarization and self-rule Khajuria said PDP is misleading the people by making demands like demilitarization and repealing of AFSPA.

Referring to PDP double speak, Khajuria said PDP did nothing when it was in chair for three years.They promised provision of job to atleast one member of a family but failed to come up to the expectations of the people. Ghulam Nabi Azad, while resuming chair of the State Chief Minister, assured of accountability, transparency, corruption free administration and what not but the factual position is known to every one. He said the people of Jammu region who have been discriminated for the last 60 years, should see through the anti-Jammu and anti-people approach of the Jammu-based Congress leaders who have become puppets in the hands of Kashmiri leadership and are no less than Jai Chands. He declared that the BJP would not allow these Jai Chands of Jammu to succeed in their anti-Jammu and anti-people approach and give them a befitting reply in next assembly elections when BJP will be winning 20-25 seats. He declared that the Lanka of unholy alliance of Congress and PDP will be ashed to the ground with the support of the people of Jammu region after next assembly elections when BJP will be winning 20-25 seats.
BJP Senior leader & Ex-MLA Ch. Piyara Singh, in his address, demanded a thorough probe into the accumulation of huge properties by the sitting MLAs and Ministers. He said that these public representatives are busy in making money and are least bothered for the welfare of the common masses. He said that the present chief minister who, every now and then, talks of ending corruption should direct the vigilance organization to look into the property statements submitted in 2002 by the MLAs and ministers and bring all those to justice who are now in possession of moveable and immovable properties worth crores of rupees.
Daya Krishan Kotwal, Smt. Suresh Jamwal, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Sat Sharma, Ramesh Arora, Yudhvir Sethi, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Balbir Ram, Parmod Kapahi, Rajesh Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Mohan Singh, Baldev Singh, Krishan Lal Gupta, Subhash Jandial, Jaideep Sharma, Indu Bhushan Sharma, Om Parkash Kaku, Rajiv Charak, Smt. Usha Choudhary, Narsingh Dass Rajwal, Lalit Moza, Smt. Raj Rani, Ramesh Sharma, Shubh Chander Verma, Balwant Singh, Chander Mohan Gupta, S. Varinderjeet Singh and Subash Chander were prominent among those who also took part in this grand Karyakarta Sammelan.

Mandal Presidents Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Vinay Gupta were applauded for organizing grand show. On the occasion prominent social figure and a leading businessman of Jammu Shri Ram Dass Gupta, popularly known as Ramu Shah, joined BJP. Khajuria, while Welcoming Shri Ram Dass Gupta into party, said that the people of Jammu region are fed up with the Kashmir-centric policies of the Congress-led coalition government and are looking towards BJP with high hopes.(
