| Unemployed engineers resort to ‘indefinite hunger’ strike | | | Jammu 20 May After 45th day of peaceful protest, all J&K Unemployed Engineers have gone on an indefinite hunger strike from today in support of their demands. Disappointed from the poor response from the Government in favor of their demands for absorption of all unemployed engineers under Rahbar- e – Tamirat scheme, the unemployed engineers decided to convert their simple protest into indefinite hunger strike, which started here from today. Ravinder Satti, one of the protestor alleged that unemployed engineers were exploited by all the previous governments by false assurances for the last 15 years. Another protestor Rejeev Sharma, however, expressed the hope that the present government led by the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is known for his dynamism, would rise to the occasion and issue orders for the adjustment of 2500 unemployed engineering graduates against the available vacancies in different departments like PDD, R&B, PWD and PHE.
