| Sakina demands early assessment of losses caused due to windstorm | | |
Srinagar, May 20
Expressing her concern over the huge losses caused by the natural calamity 'windstorm' other day in valley and other parts of the state particularly in south Kashmir, Senior National conference leader and Member Legislative Council Miss Sakina Itoo today demanded early assessment of loses caused to orchards and crops.
Miss Sakina, who personally visited some affected areas of her constituency and took stock of the damages caused due to wind storm.
She said that the farmers who suffered losses during last year's hail storm are yet to receive any compensation.
Itoo demands immediate assessment of the losses so that the farmers and orchard owners could revive their losses.
She said that heavy loss have been caused due to the untimely wind storm due to which the orchards and crops were badly damaged, adding that immediate relief must be provided to them to the affected farmers.
Sakina said that the farmers and fruit growers were the main victims of the natural calamities during last two years but no relief was given to them, she said adding that government must regulate the distribution system so that all are equally benefited.
