| 26282 animals treated in Reasi | | | REASI, May 20 To provide timely treatment to the cattle population and to increase the milk production for raising the socio-economic conditions of the rural masses in the Reasi district, the Animal Husbandry Department, Reasi treated over 26282 animals against various non contagious diseases during the last financial year which included 5335 by Veterinary Hospital, Reasi, 3508 by LDC, Bhagga, 1186 by LDC Kanjli, 1117 by First Aid Centre, Mansoo, 2885 by FAC, Talwara, 2725 by Pony Dispensary, Banganga, 3874 by LDC, Sujandhar, 1118 by VAS Kawari and 4458 by VAS Bhagdhar. Besides, vaccination against various diseases were also provided to 6820 animals against HS, 2800 against BQ and 1900 against FMD during the same period in the Reasi district. Dosing against liver fluke and intestine warms was also provided to over 16849 animals by the department while castration was provided in over 868 cases and artificial insemination in over 607 cases also during the same period. The department is also making the rural as well as urban people aware regarding the latest techniques and good quality of animals for having good milk production by way of awareness camps and group discussions at different places of the district.
