| Hizb ready to hold conditional dialogue with India : Gazi Misabudin | | Terms India ’s demand of handing over Salahudin ‘unrealistic’ | |
SRINAGAR , AUG 08: Frontline militant out hit Hizbul Mujaheedin, is ready to hold ‘conditional’ dialogue with India , directly or through the separatists, whom outfit acknowledges as the representatives of the Kashmiri people. However, Hizb has termed, the demand of India about handing over the supreme commander of the outfit, Sayed Salhuddin to Indian agencies as ‘unrealistic’ and has denied that Al-Qaeda is present in the Kashmir valley.
Chief Operations commander of the outfit, Gazi- Misabudin, in an exclusive interview to KPS, said, “ Hizb has never been against the dialogue process, earlier also we have said that we are ready to hold the talks, but we have always stressed on the fact that dialogue should not be held for the sake of dialogue and it (dialogue) needs to be meaningful.” He added, “dialogue can be held with India, provided India accepts Kashmir as a dispute, all the three parties, i.e, India, Pakistan and Kashmiris should share a common negotiating table, India should call of all the operations in Kashmir, Kashmiri prisoners languishing in various prisons be released and India should send back its troops to barracks.”
Gazi further said, “If India accepts these conditions, Hizb is ready to hold a dialogue with India , directly or through the separatist leadership, whom militant outfits acknowledge as the true representatives of the Kashmiri people. Dialogue process should be time bound and it (dialogue) should not be held for passing time.”
Gazi, while referring to the statement of the senior National Conference leaders in the legislative assembly about holding talks with the militants, said, “Even main stream political parties are stating that dialogue should be held with the militant outfits and National Conference asking India to hold talks with militants indicates that they (main stream political parties) too have realized the importance of holding talks with militant leadership.”
Referring to the Indo- Pak dialogues held till today, Gazi said, “ Till date India and Pakistan have held talks with each other on 130 occasions at different levels, however, bilateral talks have proved to be futile.” He added, “History stands witness to the fact that till today India has not shown any flexibility and the rigid attitude of India is responsible for Kashmir not being settled till date.”
Referring to India ’s demand of handing over, Hizb Supremo, Sayed Salhudin to India , Gazi, said, “ India ’s demand about handing over the Hizb Supreme commander to Indian agencies is unrealistic. Salahudin is no ‘terrorist’. He ( Salahudin) is fighting for the cause of Kashmiri people on all the fronts.” He added, “ Salahuddin is heading a movement, if this movement is termed as ‘terrorism’, then what should be the freedom movement of India be termed as?. Kashmir issue has evolved from the womb of Indian freedom struggle. This struggle was started by Tipu Sultan and Salhudin is committed to take this movement to its logical end.”
Gazi further said, “ Keeping the name of the Salahuddin on the list of wanted people proves India ’s narrow mindedness. Salahuddin is in Muzzafarbad and, Muzaffarbad is very much a part of Jammu and Kashmir .”
Turning down the speculations about presence of Al-Qaeda in the Kashmir valley, Gazi said, “There is no network of Al- Qaeda in the Kashmir valley. Whenever, Al- Qaeda sets up its network in any part of the world, its announcement is made by Osama-bin- Laden himself.” He added, “Here the announcement was made by Indian intelligence agencies for maligning the ongoing movement and for using it as a weapon against the movement.”
Gazi denied that Hizb has got any links with Al- Qaeda. “ Hizbul- Mujaheedin has been active for last seventeen years and Al- Qaeda was just formed quite recently.”
Gazi, while referring to ceasefire “ There is no pressure from any side on Hizbul- Mujaheedin to announce ceasefire. Hizb is an indigenous outfit and represents the aspirations of the common Kashmiris.” He added, “ nobody can pressurize us to announce ceasefire not even Pakistan , we have our own policy and Hizb works in accordance with its policy.”
Referring to Mumbai blasts, Gazi said, “ The so called Lashkare- Qahar, which owned the responsibility of the Mumbai blasts is run by an Indian citizen, Suresh Chanderpal of Bhopal , Madhya Pardesh.” He added, “This person had sent e-mail to a private channel from an internet café in Bhopal claiming the responsibility for the attack. Hizb does not believe in killing the innocent people, however, outfit is capable enough to strike in any part of India, but our policy does not permit us to do so, because if we indulge in any such act, India will get a chance to launch a false propaganda against us and our movement.” Terming the attacks on tourists as handiwork of Indian agencies, Gazi said, “Preplanned conspiracy was hatched to attack the tourists first time in seventeen years. These attacks were launched to break the back bone of the Kashmir economy. These attacks were carried out at the behest of Indian agencies for ruining the reputation of the Kashmiri militants and for proving it to the world that Kashmiri militants are ‘terrorists’.”
Referring to the infamous sex scandal, which rocked the Kashmir valley, Gazi Misabudin, said, “All the efforts are being made to shift the accused in the sex scandal to other parts of India . However, if these accused or their cases are shifted outside the valley, it would have far reaching consequences.” He added, “ Hizb warns the government from transferring the cases of the accused to any other part of India .”
