| Workshop on secret of living held | | |
JAMMU | MAY 20 Akhand Yoga Kendra organized its 8th one-day workshop on ‘the Secret of True Living’, in which about 100 people participated. The topic of the Workshop was Positive Health. Dr. Sunil Vasishtha, founder of Akhand Yoga, conducted the Workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vasishtha said, “Prevalence of a large number of diseases across the globe, despite our best efforts to control and treat them, points towards the bitter fact that a lot has yet to be done in this regard. People grapple with one disease after the other not because they are destined to suffer but because they lack the basic know-how to attain and maintain positive health,” Dr Vasishtha observed. He said “there is no denying the fact that the present model of disease prevention and management is far from being satisfactory as it fails to bring about complete physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being of an individual. However, a reasonable fusion of the latest scientific advances with the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda and yoga could go a long way in providing solution to the health problems of people and helping them attain positive health, he said. ‘Such an approach would not only bring about harmony among the body, mind and soul, but a harmonious relationship between the individual and the Nature, too”, he added. In addition, to the regular sessions of Oorja, Shakti-Kriya, and Shaktipata, a notable event at the Workshop was the Award Ceremony in which J.C. Bharati, a renowned artist, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award conferred by Akhand Yoga-for his outstanding services in stage and radio plays, tele-films and serials, story and script writing. The award was presented by Dr. Brijbala Vasishth, Patron, Akhand Yoga. Earlier, Pawanesh Abrol, organizer of the workshop welcoming the participants stressed the need to adopt a holistic approach in order to attain positive health while Dr. Rashi Abrol, co-organizer, emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle among the working women keeping in view the heavy workload they are exposed to at home and office. Mrs. Anuradha Puri, Convener, shared her experiences with audience and presented the vote of thanks.
