JAMMU | MAY 20 Natrang honoured 25 young artists on the eve completion of 25 years of its existence. The artists were honored on behalf Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi for their participation in the play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ written and directed by Balwant Thakur, which was staged at Chandigarh. Appreciating the artists, Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur said that they (artists) are the proud products of our ‘Children’s Weekend Club’ and have brought laurels for the State through their participation in the National Theatre Festivals. Their personalities have been groomed by Natrang through theatre and they will always be the leaders in their respective fields. This is the time not only to catch them young but to appreciate and encourage them in the field of art. He further said that the young artists who participated in last year’s Children’s National Theatre Festival held at Jaipur will also be honoured at a separate function. On this occasion, he informed that Natrang’s summer workshops will start shortly and any one interested in the artistic, creative and personality development of their children can contact him. The young artists who were honoured on the occasion were Mayank Gupta, Sahil Anand, Tanvi Sharma Sakshi Anand, Arihant Gupta, Sunalika Jain, Ashish Langer, Aditya Malhotra, Ruhi Singh, Rohan Jain, Juhi Singh, Smita Pandit, Sahitya Sharma, Prachika Kanotra, Aatish Gupta, Aarushi Gupta, Rishab Gupta, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Kamaljeet Kaur, Pawan Verma, Aarushi Thakur and Gauri Thakur. These young artists belong to Presentation Convent, Delhi Public School, J.K. Public School, K.C. Public School, Heritage School, Army School, MHAC, Nagbani, Jammu Public School, and Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Prominent among, others who were present on the occasion, included Sumiti Sharma incharge Children’s Weekend Club, Deepak Virdhi and others.
