| Chib conducts door to door campaign | | | Jammu, Nov 26: R S Chib, former minister and Congress Candidate for Suchetgarh constituency exposed the double talk of BJP, PDP on the burning issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
While conducting door to door campaign in Batyal Kadian and Mokhe, Chib said that Congress has played a role towards the betterment of SCs and refugees. He said that Congress believes in development of all the societies especially the back trodden classes. He said that the packages of one time settlement of refugees are prepared during the tenure of Gulam Nabi Azad but it was delayed due to PDP.
He lambasted the BJP-led Central Government for trying to sabotage the rehabilitation proposal of the displaced community, submitted by the State Government. He alleged that the BJP Government did not want to help the PoK refugee people by making excuses on the name of West Pakistani refugees. "Delaying the rehabilitation proposal of PoK displaced persons because of the issue of West Pakistani refugees is just like denying employment to a new recruit on the plea that he would be allowed to join only after other unemployed are also accommodated," he said. The rehabilitation proposal of 1947, 1965 and 1971 displaced persons, which was sent by the State Government after duly approved by the State Cabinet has reportedly been clubbed by the Central Government with the issue of refugees of West Pakistan which is altogether different and cannot be connected with the PoK as these people are State Subjects of Jammu and Kashmir while as the West Pakistan refugees are not the residents of J&K, R S Chib said. |
