| Shiv Sena protests against ETT Colleges | | |
Jammu | May 21 Shiv Sena activists and the students from outside the state, studying here, have flayed the Education Minister and Chairman J&K Board of School Education for their failure in providing the basic facilities in the Elementary Teacher Training Institutes operating in the State. The protestors led by Ashok Gupta, President State Unit of Shiv Sena took out a protest rally and raised slogans against the administration Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Sena President said that out of 131 ETT colleges in the state, only 48 colleges were functional. He said to get admission in these colleges; each student has to deposit Rs.1657, and alleged that most of the Institutes were running in tiny sheds having just a single room. These institutes, he said, lack the basic facilities including the hostels and asserted that majority of these are run by the sitting and former legislators. Shiv Sena President has sought Chief Minister’s intervention in the matter and hoped that the problems of the students would be sorted out keeping in view their future
