| Militants ambush police party, no loss reported | | |
Srinagar | May 21
A group of militants in a well hatched conspiracy targeted a police vehicle at Dangam area in Shopian this afternoon. Meanwhile, no loss of life was reported in the incident. According to reports, an anonymous caller rang up in Police Station and informed that an accident has taken place in Dangam area resulting into injuries to many. After the receipt of information, a police party rushed to the spot where it was ambushed by a group of militants. Militants opened fire on the police party which also retaliated in response. After the brief exchange of fire militants manage fled away from the spot. Meanwhile, no loss of life or injury was reported from either side while search operation was launched in the areas to trace out the escaped militants.
