Heavily armed militants attack police post, 3 cops injured

A group of militants last night attacked Police Post Nagni Keswan in Kishtwar area and seriously injured three policemen. According to reports, last night a group of militants believed to be eight in number attacked police post with grenades and asked the policemen to surrender before them along with their weapons. But the policemen replied befittingly and forced the militants to flee from the spot after a brief exchange of fire.
Three policemen were injured in the encounter. They have been identified as Som Nath, son of Paras Ram, Joginder, son of Duni Chand both residents of Keswan and Bilal Ahmed son of Gulam Mohd of Thakrai. The injured were hospitalized in SDH Kishtwar and their condition was stated to be out of danger when reports last come.
Meanwhile, senior officers rushed to spot this morning to assess the situation. According to sources, there were 13 police personnel in the post during the time of militant attack. It is to mention that said police post was opened in the area after the occurrence of some militancy relative incidents in the area.
