| Cabinet expansion: PDP, Cong lockhorns again | | | Jammu, August 08 : The row between the major allies peoples democratic party(PDP) and congress over the chief Minister’s statement in legislative Assembly claiming sharp decline in Human Right Violation and violence during his eight months in office has resulted in the postponement of much awaited cabinet expansion. Sources in power corridors revealed that continuous hip ups between the main coalition allies has once again put the cabinet expansion on the back burner, that was scheduled for this week. The names of those to be roped in the new cabinet was to be finalized soon after the conclusion of the session but chief ministers statement in the house deepened the already existing cracks with in the coalition particularly between Peoples Democratic Party and congress, sources added. PDP had already given the names of six MLA’s as per the share but chief minister had not yet agreed upon the number which was to be finalized only after the session. The two main allies had already some differences over the number of MLA’s to be taken in from congress associate group and panther’s party. There were also differences over the inclusion of Abdul Gani Vakil who is considered to be a close man of Azad against whom PDP was pressing the inclusion of Dilawer Mir and Gani Vakil hails from Rafiabad constituency and are considered to be at logger heads. Sources further said that congress also wanted PDP to include the name of Hassan Mir or any of the members of his camp within the party. Adding that however a consensus was expected to be build and all these issues and the list was to be finalized and announced by the end of this week. The matter has once again been left aside and there is no chance of expansion in future, sources added. |
