ATMA concludes farm school on vegetable crops | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 30: Farm school on vegetable crops comprising of twenty-five farmers, established by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) under National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology (NMAET) in village Pinjore of Jhiri area was successfully concluded. The farmers were provided comprehensive agro-advisory involving latest interventions on vegetable crops being grown in the area during the entire cropping season. Deputy Project Directors of ATMA viz., B BSidha and RavinderKachroo advised the vegetable growers to shift from conventional to high-tech cultivation. They encourage the farmers for adoption of forcing techniques for growing off-season vegetables using poly-green houses and making the market replete with vegetables throughout the year and earn huge profits. The farmers were also educated for round-the-year cultivation of various types of mushrooms for enhancing their farm income. The farmers thanked the experts of ATMA for providing technical guidance and reiterated their commitment for adoption of scientific knowledge for profitable cultivation of vegetable crops in future. The farm school was organized under the supervision of Chief Agriculture Officer and District Agriculture Officer (Extension), Jammu with the coordination of S K Garyali (AEO) and SanyogKotru (Research Assistant). |
