Rajouri, Nov 30: Rajouri police under the supervision of DrHaseeb Mughal, SSP, added another feather in its cap when it arrested an accused for posting false news of fidayeen attack before the visit of Prime Minister to Udhampur and Poonch on November 28. The accused identified as Sahil Bali son of KrishaLal Bali resident of Bela colony, Nowshera was operating a whatsapp group under the name Jammu Metro Press and is administrator of this group. Sources said that besides fidayeen attack the message also carried that army has trapped the militants and also blocked all the places and firing is going on.
The news had created panic among the people of Jammu region, who were already under panic due to terrorist's attack in Arnia sector, and especially among the inhabitants of Udhampur city.
"The false information at that juncture/crucial time seems to create large scale disturbance and public scare/ terror in Jammu region in general and Udhampur and Poonch districts in particular" said SSP. Police have started investigation to know the motive of the accused behind posting information of false fidayeen attack at Udhampur.
Police have booked Sahil under section 505 RPC and 66-A under Information Technology Act (ITA) has been registered against the accused at Nowshera police station (FIR No184/14) for communicating the false and frivolous news thus spreading terror among the general masses. Police have started investigation to find whether the accused posted the false information deliberately to stop the people ot to attend the PM's rallies or with any other motive.
