| Fire break at Dev Ordnance Unit | | Swift action by firefighters averted major tragedy | |
Jammu, May 21
Swift action by fire services department personnel averted a major tragedy by immediately controlling the fire that broke out at the Dev Ordnance unit in Satwari area of Jammu late last night.
Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that fire broke in one room of the Dev Ordnance unit containing clothing's of the army personnel. However, swift action by the firefighting tenders brought the fire under control before it could spread to Ordnance stores.
"Some Army personnel spotted thick smokes emanating from one of the room and immediately informed the Fire station Satwari" sources within the Army told News Agency of Kashmir.
They said the fire tenders reached on the spot in no time and doused the flames before it could engulf other parts f the unit thus averting a major tragedy.
When contacted PRO defence Lt. Col Goswami told News Agency of Kashmir that army has ordered court of inquiry in the matter to ascertain the facts
