The partners of the Coalition Government; they said, instead are indulging in bickering against each another and the differences among themselves are rife. As a result, the Common Minimum Programme of the Government has been adversely affected, they added. They claimed that the recently announced districts are itself a yardstick to judge the performance of the government. “Instead of four district recommended by the Wazir Commission the government constitutes eight district only to imbalance the state political identity”. The Party also discussed the recent announcement of the state chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with regard to the enhancement of 25% increase in the Assembly seats in all the three regions of the State, and described it as unconstitutional and unjustified. The Conference noted with concern and said that there is no such provision in the State Constitution either to enhance the seats region wise. In addition, the proposed enhancement if allowed, would further add to the already unchecked discrimination with Jammu, the workers conference observed, and through a resolution wherein it was resolved not to allow the State Coalition Government to resort to their old methods. |
