| Power minister launches election campaign | | | Leh, May 22: The Power Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora who is here for a week long visit has started campaign for his party Congress to the forthcoming bye election of Lower Leh constituency of LAHDC to be held on May 26. With the minister joining the District Congress Committee in campaigning, the electioneering atmosphere in Leh especially in city areas has started to heat up. However, until today Congress alone has started its active campaign, although the campaign formally will end tomorrow. Congress party workers were seen plying their motor vehicles with the party flag, posters and banners on the roads. While the female party workers while singing songs and raising slogans like Congress Party Zindabad are hanging around the markets. Urging the electorates to vote in favor his party, Jora alleged the LAHDC Ladakh Union Territory Front( LUTF) is defunct. Under the leadership of the minister, the party leaders and the contesting candidate Sonam Dorjai today visited different residential colonies that are included Skampari, Nimooling, Skagosgoksum, ,Lower Skara, Ibex colony, Murste colony, Skalzangling, Skara Disket Tsal, Talam and Katmochey. Party Spokesperson and the District Congress Committee president Rigzin Spalbar said, the party will end its campaign tomorrow after campaigning in three colonies which are included Norgaisling, Targasling and Maneysermo.
