| Sikh protestor’s gheraoed Police Station | | |

Following a minor scuffle between the Sikh protestors and the security personal of Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak, the security has been enhanced for the minister and even the educational institution owned by the minister is put under security cover. The protestors gheroaed the Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu demanding registration of FIR against the erring security staff. And late evening following pressure police registered a counter case against PSO of Charak under FIR No 187/2007 under Section 341, 323 on the complaint of Harjinder Singh president of Shrimoni Akali Dal. Pertinent to mention that driver of Charak has also complained in the police station that the protester had attacked them when they were on way to city. The police had registered case aginst protester under FIR No 188/2007 under Section 341, 186 RPC.
The incident took place as some protestors were forcing the roadside vendors and the public transport plying on roads to support the bandh when the cavalcade of the said minister was arriving. Finding the road blockade at Vikram Chowk, the security personnel of the minister tried to break through the barricades created on the road which resulted into a scuffle between security staff and protestors here this morning. Thereafter the protestors blaming that security staff had deliberately uncovered the head of the Sikh Youth demanded FIR in the case and gheroaed the Police Station Gandhinagar for till late afternoon.
