Leh May-22 To give further fillip to the educational activities in the rural remote areas of Leh district, a Non Governmental Organization, Prajya, has come up in the district and has conducted a training camp for village volunteers. So far 17 volunteers of villages like Ulma, Changa, Laga, Urbis, Korzok, Chamshin and Meru attended the training camp. NCERT expert from New Delhi Dr A B Behara imparted training to the volunteers. Principal DIET, V R Sharma, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School S D Namgail and Mrs Tsering Vangdol Lecturer were other resource persons. Innovative training on the topics like teaching methodology, instructional strategies, activity centered methods, multi grade teaching, peer tutoring, teacher learing aids. Child guidance and counseling and evaluation procedures were imparted. Chief Education Officer T K Bhat was the chief guest at the training camp. The workers of the newly formed NGO said that besides imparting education, they would work for conservation of herbal wealth, promotion of cultural heritage, renewable energy, health and sanitation in Leh and maintained that their project was running in all the states of Himalayan region.
