| Vigilance, Inspection wing realizes Rs one lakh penalty | | | Jammu MAY 22 In a surprise Naka laid at Jammu-Lakhanpur National Highway, the Vigilance and Inspections team of Commercial Taxes imposed and recovered penalty to the rune of nearly Rs. one lakh for carrying taxable goods without documents or for non clearance of commercial taxes at check post Lakhanpur and for under valuation. The team led by Deputy Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Mohan Lal Sharma, intercepted several vehicles near Lakhanpur check post and found some vehicles carrying goods without the valid papers and imposed a fine of Rs.99, 768 on the violators. The Deputy Commissioner has once again impressed upon all the transport agencies, commercial vehicles and other private and departmental vehicles that in no case transport of taxable goods should be carried without the valid documents failing which action as warranted under the Jammu and Kashmir Value Added Tax would follow.
