The unemployed engineers are demanding their absorption in various Govt. departments like P.D.D. R&B, P.W.D. and R.D.D on the basis of Rahber-e-Tamirat scheme which was announced by the Govt at the floor of house recently. One of the protestor, Anil Sharma from Udhampur who has joined the hunger strike claimed that there were around 7000 seats lying vacant in the various departments while there were only 2500 unemployed engineers, who are being exploited by the various governments. “Now our hope is only on the Chief Minsiter Gulam nabi Azad,” he added. Another protestor Neel Kamal from Ramgarh said, “After sitting on the dharna peacefully for last 47 days to press the govt. to implementing the scheme of Rehbar-e- Timarat, it seems that no body from the govt side wants to listen our problems. So we had decided to go for hunger strike which may be converted into the fast unto death”.
