DODA may 23 The sleepy verdurous hill slope of village Bhalra, opposite picturesque Bhaderwah town, was awakened by the sonorous voices of Bhaderwahi folk singers and folk dancers. The occasion was Bhaderwahi cultural programme, organized by Cultural Academy Sub-Office Doda. Hundreds of people, including women, village elders, besides the youth of Bhalra had gathered to listen to the folk artists of Bhaderwah area. The programme was presided over by A.Q.Kagazgar, Principal HSS Bhalra while Bodh Raj Kotwal was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The artists who weaved a magical web of folk songs included Ajaz Hussain, Puran Chand, Tanvir Ahmed, Omkar Singh Pardesi, Milkhi Ram, Vijay Kumar, Indu Bala, Manmoham Rahi, Sangeeta Devi, Rita Devi and Shiwani and party. Some poets of Bhaderwahi language also recited their poetic compositions. Welcoming the artists and the audience Farid Ahmed Faridi ,Cultural Officer stated that Bhaderwahi language is a repository of mesmerizing folk songs and the Academy is making all out efforts under the guidance of Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Secretary to preserve and promote this rich legacy. Kagazgar and Kotwal thanked the Cultural Academy for organising the memorable event at Bhalra.
