Continuing its drive to beautify the old city, Jammu Municipal Corporation Mayor Narinder Singh Jamwal along with Local MLA Yogesh Sawhney paid a surprise visit to Chand Nagar area of Ward 19. .
Taking strong notice of the bad sanitary conditions in the area and encroachment on streets, the visiting team warned the residents of stern action if they failed to remove the encroachments on their way and asked the people to ensure proper sanitary conditions in the area. Instead of throwing garbage here and there, the people should take benefits of the dust bins he said adding that those found throwing garbage on streets and open area would be penalized under the Municipal ACT.
The Mayor directed the demolition team to remove the encroachments forthwith to pave way for laying tiles in the area and sought cooperation of the public in keeping the city of temples neat and clean
