| Taj Mohi-ud-Din lays foundation stone of Kashmir reconstruction project at Uri | | | Srinagar, August 08 – Minister for Animal Husbandry and Science and Technology, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today laid foundation stone of Kashmir Reconstruction Project at Uri under which 7 houses at a cost of Rs.13 lakh would be constructed in the first phase by Confederation of Voluntary Association (COVA), a Hyderabad based NGO. These houses are being handed over to quake-hit families of Uri Tehsil. Highlighting the role of NGO’s the Minister said that natural calamities are the part of life and NGO`s are playing humanitarian role to provide necessary succor by way of rescue, relief and rehabilitation to affected people so that they can resume the life. Director COVA, Mazhar Hussain on this occasion said that in all 130 houses are being constructed in Uri tehsil, which are expected to be completed before the onset of ensuing winter. He said that COVA is working on communal harmony in the country. Earlier, state Project Coordinator, Feroz Ahmed briefed about the achievements made by the organization after 8th October earthquake in Uri tehsil. Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Officers and Engineers of various functionaries besides members of COVA and prominent citizens were present on this occasion. |
