| AJHLA hails permanent base camp for Amarnath pilgrims | | |
Jammu | May 23 Members of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association and Shri Amarnath Yatra Action Committee in a joint meeting chaired by Inderjeet Khajuria have hailed the action of Divisional commissioner in sending a proposal to Sri Amarnath Board for setting up a permanent base camp for Amarnath pilgrims at Bhagwati Nagar. According to a press release, about 150 kanal of land is available adjoining Bapu Asa Ram Ashram for the purpose. The members have jointly appealed to the chairman Amarnath Shrine Board, and Governor, S.K. Sinha to avail the offer made by the government for setting up permanent base camp in the city for pilgrims. Beside, they have demanded that pre-fabricated huts be set up at the base camp for providing all the facilities to yatries under one roof and can be utilized for Vashino Devi pilgrims also. The meeting also hailed the preparations being made at the official level for smooth and safe conduct of two month long yatra. They also demanded that Div. Com. Should also call an early meeting of NCOs and all other organisations which take interest in promoting and assisting the yatra. Among others who attended this meeting included Ravi Mahajan and Kuldeep Vahi, chairman and President of Jammu Prayatan Vikas Mandal, Pawan Gupta General Secretary AJHLA, Ashwani Sharma, President General Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association and MC Padha President Jammu Tourist Traders Employees Federation.
