| Amitabh Bachchan and family in hot waters | | | BL KAK NEW DELHI, May 23 Mayawati, Dalit 'Iron Lady', now going about as the aggressive ruler of Uttat Pradesh, is said to have prepared a hit-list, which, expectedly, includes names of a number of close associates of the ousted Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav. Amitabh Bachchan and his family find a prominent space in Mayawati's list. The 'Big B', who considers Mulayam Yadav as his elder brother, is quite likely to face rough weater in the coming days. Indications from the Mayawati camp are by no means uncertain that both Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, Jaya Bachhan, will have to answer many an awkward question soner than later. A report just put out by CNN-IBN television channel says that Jaya Bachchan, sitting member of Rajya Sabha, has been found guilty of not revealing details of land which she and her family owned in UP at the time of becoming a Rajya Sabha MP. The report, submitted to the UP Assembly, will now be forwarded to the Election Commission, a move which could endanger her membership to the Rajya Sabha. And then there are charges against Amitabh Bachchan himself. Amitabh Bachchan had bought more than two acres of land in Daulatpur village of Barabanki, UP. He had bought this land on May 11, 1983 claiming that he was a farmer. He is charged with submitting forged documents to prove his credentials as a farmer. According to the television channel, villagers of Barabanki are incredulous to say the least. "Can you ever believe that Amitabh is a farmer", they say disbelievingly. The CNN-IBN report quoted "sources close to" Jaya Bachchan as saying that the property in question "is a disputed property". The Bachchans had bought this property, but they did not have possession of it. They got the possession four days after Jaya Bachchan became a Rajya Sabha member. An order giving them possession was passed by the District Magistrate, R Sahu. Sources also say that the property was not in Jaya Bachchan's name and that Amitabh had bought this property for his uncle. The Bachchans as of today are the most visible supporters of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, high-profile general secretary of Samajwadi Party. At a time when the Samajwadi Party's arch rival, Mayawati, has taken charge of Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Bachchan may have to enact some reel life heroics in real life to bail himself and his family out of troubled waters.
