Jammu | May 23 The recent declaration of Matric and Senior Secondary examinations by Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has descended pall of gloom on the below par and unsuccessful candidates as they were only prepared for the single outcome i.e. unfavorable results but, they didn’t have even imagined that they have to face the harsh conditions at Board office to submit their forms coupled with the indignation of their nears and dears. In the meantime, they are also falling easy prey to the agents operating around the board as it’s a ripe time for these agents to mint money with the active connivance of Board officials. But, authorities sitting at the helm of Board affairs seem to be least concerned about the problems of student community. According to sources, the reevaluation forms customary which are issued free of cost to the students were being sold at the cost of Rs 5 by some shopkeepers around the Board office as most of the students were either unaware of it or don’t have the stamina to stand in long queues. Sources said these shopkeepers were operating under the patronage of some Board officials. As the number of such gloomy students run into thousands mushroom growth of agents has been witnessed. These agents who are enjoying the patronage of Board officials charging handsome amount from these students to facilitate easy work out. Unable to bear the pain of standing in long queues under the scorching sun, students are easily falling prey to such elements. But, strange is the attitude of Board authorities as they have turned a blind eye towards the problems of these gloomy students who were bearing the dual brunt at the moment. Talking to “Early Times”, Abhishek, who failed to pass two subjects in Matric exam, told that students started queuing up before time and those fails to turn up early struggles till afternoon. It was a real tough battle for me to submit the form amid such a rush, he added. Meanwhile, a girl student on the condition of anonymity revealed that she witnessed some agents who did the job for some students in lieu of some amount. She also affirmed in positive of buying reevaluation form from a nearby shop on the payment of Rs 5/- as the queue was long at the stationery counter. Not only this, even the residents of Green Enclave, nearby residential colony, complained about the mismanagement on the part of Board authorities to tackle the rush of students as the vehicles parked by the visitors has completely choked off the roads leading to absolute chaos in the area. They said Board has enough space to accommodate the vehicles of visitors but, it didn’t allow them to park the vehicle inside. Meanwhile, Prof NA Ganai, Chairman JKBOSE claimed that enough of the facilities have been created in the Board premises for the convenience of the visitors. But, he expressed ignorance about the sale of reevaluation forms at nearby shops.
