| Bhalla inaugurates ERA project at Landoi Choi drain | | | JAMMU, MAY 23 MLA Gandhi Nagar Mr. Raman Bhalla inaugurated the rehabilitation and renovation work of Landoi Choi primary drain and a parking place near Gurudwara Nanak Nagar here today. The construction work including culverts and rehabilitation around the drain with parking slot expected to be completed before rainy season. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhalla said that government is committed to mitigate the sufferings of people particularly those residing in unhygienic conditions. He assured that the entire renovation work on Landoi Choi primary drain and the parking place would be completed within minimum possible time. He sought cooperation of the masses in executing various development works in different areas of Jammu region. During his tour to Nanak Nagar constituency, Gandhinagar Sikh Sangat met the MLA and demanded for reconstruction of main nallah passing through boundary wall of main Gurudwara. He said all the development works are being undertaken in Jammu in a phased manner with the cooperation of UPA Chairperson and liberal funding by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. This would bring the entire city of Jammu at par with other developed metropolitan cities of the country, he added. To facilitate inhabitants to park their vehicles during religious and other functions, a project has been formulated which envisages widening of road apart from conversion of wasteland into parking lot alongwith construction of deep drain for smooth flow of water. This would not only beautify the area but will help in maintaining the hygienic conditions in the surrounding area besides ensuring smooth flow of rainy water. Among others Engineers of ERA, Corporators Mr. Jai Singh, Mr. Satish Sharma, Mr. Kulbushan Sharma, Smt. Koushalya Devi, Mr. Tilak Raj and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
