KPs return home sans voting after found names missing from voters list | | | Sri Krishan Kaw
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: In yet another blow to democracy, most of the Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) voters from Jammu were not allowed to cast their votes as they didn't find their name in the voters list prepared in the KP colonies including Jagti, Anand Nagar, Muthi and other colonies of KPs. Most of the voters returned without casting their votes because their names were not included in the voters list despite filing of the M-forms on time. Most of the voters alleged lackadaisical approach of the Relief organization staff that was assigned the job to issue and accept the M-forms from the Kashmiri Pandits voters. The eligible voters who could not vote said that staff of the Relief organization did not do their job properly and have left many M-Forms un-entered resulting in non-inclusion of several migrant voters in the voters list. A couple belonging to the Zadibal constituency of Srinagar district was shocked when they came to know that their name does not figure in the voter list and as such they cannot cast their vote at Jagti. This was despite the fact that both husband and wife voted in the parliament elections held in May this year.
