Jammu May 24 The rising mercury, vacations in addition to the power curtailments in the Jammu simmering with high mercury tendency divert one towards historic Ranbir Canal and its by-channels in adjoining areas. Like a little diving camp a little school kid showing his excellence and diving skill somersaulted in the cool waters making passers bye just to utter words ‘look at this.” Water jumpers at times bathed in sun to maintain their body temperature and soon jump into the chill of canal, while some new comers seem to be dependent on the big floating tubes while shivering naked little surfers also become the attention seekers for some. Not only the water surfers seem to enjoy the cool ripples of water but some aged people were also seen picking up their share from this merriment by dipping their feet in the cool moving waters of canal looking at the dipping sun in the West within crimson red auroras on the horizon. The number of visitors is high in the late hors of the evening that one finds to park a vehicle in the huge rush. Not only the road side vendors but the tuck shops besides the canal heads also are making a good business. The shops just below the Bakshinagar-Shaktinagar Pulli attract big crowds in the evening people from all around the city come to this place to have the cool bites of ice cream at famous Pawan Ice Cream Corner.
