| BJP leader flays health ministry | | | Jammu
BJP State Gen. Secretary Bali Bhagat lambasted Jammu and Kashmir Health Ministry for playing with the lives of the thousands of the cancer patients and said the state governemnt says day-in and day-out that it is working for the Khushaal Jammu and Kashmir but the position is that it has failed to get the Radiotherpy machine repaired in a year time, thus adding to the woes of the cancer patients belonging to Jammu region.
Bali Bhagat disclosed that the so-called Jammu Medical College has two Radiotherpy machines and these were installed to cater to the needs of atleast 200 cancer patients a day. He lamented that one of the two such machines is out of order for the last 12 months. He further revealed that the hospital authorities, who were under tremendous pressure from the suffering public wrote to the Health Ministry to this effect and asked it to earmark the amount required for getting the Radiotherpy machine repaired, but with no result as the Health Ministry has turned extremly inhuman.
Bali Bhagat asked the State Chief Minister and the prophets of Khushaal Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to stop their misinformation campaign as they stand thoroughly exposed in the eyes of the people. He also urged the people not to look towards the state Chief Minister and the Health Minister for any help as they themselves are involved in activities which could not be described as people centric.
The BJP leader drew the attention of the public to the sad state of affairs prevailing in the Government Medical College hospital and said this can be seen from the fact that already the efficient neuro surgeons resigned due to non-availability of neurosurgical instruments here which has created a major problem for brain injuries related patients. He said a government which cannot take care of the health of its citizens has no right to stay in office even for a day and talk of Khushaal Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
