Jammu, Dec 17: PoJK Refugee Front on Wednesday held protest against the state government of Jammu and Kashmir over delaying comprehensive settlement package to the refugees uprooted due to Pak aggression in 1947 and Chhamb Refugees of 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars.
Addressing the gathering, president of the Front, Rachhpal Singh Chib said that despite repeated appeals and demonstrations, the State Government, time and again, is showing cold shoulders to the burning issue.
"Protesters were brutally beaten up, used teargas, many a time, to disperse the demonstrators along with jailed for no fault of theirs to suppress the voice of final settlement, "he recalled and adding appealed all the refugees to vote against National Conference and Congress candidates in the ongoing Assembly elections for their anti-refugee policies.
He alleged that the NC and Congress didn't put seal of the state cabinet on the final settlement package for full one year time. |
