 Jammu, Dec 17: Flanked by thousands of supporters and party activists, Congress candidate from Jammu east, Vikram Malhotra was taken around various parts of the old City, in the assembly constituency, here today.
The rally started from Panjthirthi and passed through various localities of assembly segment and alter culminated at Mubarak Mandi.The mood was upbeat, among the youth and the elderly alike, as Malhotra was taken around, in the procession, on the second last day of the campaigning for the ensuing Assembly polls, amidst beating of drums, enthusiastic slogans in his favour and bursting of crackers.While addressing the gathering at occasions enroute to rally, Congress candidate Vikram Malhotra said that youth are the only medium to bring about any change in the society whether it is social or political change and he believes in strengthening of the youth". Malhotra added it was by dint of development works carried out by him, he has earned credibility and faith of the people from not only his assembly constituency but all the regions and sub-regions of the State. Vikram also said this constituency (Jammu- East) was till date suffering with poor or no development at all as the elected representatives so far have done nothing seriously for the development here. He further said that Congress is known for its commitment of equality among all sections of the society for which it will continue its fight whether it will be in power or opposition.He appealed the people to caste their valuable vote in his favour and give him a chance to serve them. Later, in the evening during a series of his election campaigns in the Assembly segment, Malhotra went door-to-door in Jullaka Mohalla, Mast Garh, Raghunath Pura, Panjthithi, Peer Mitha and other areas and made a fervor appeal to voters to vote in his favour. Meanwhile, the traders of Veer Marg, Residency Road have also extended their full support to Vikram Malhotra. |
